Graduates apply to the JAI through the University of Oxford, Royal Holloway University of London or the Imperial College London. The Institute's research pages are likely to be of interest as well as past theses lists.

For Candidates wishing to apply to Oxford, applications are made to the Particle Physics subdepartment. A list of potential theses at the Adams Institute and in Particle Physics is also available as well as a lecture list for the Oxford Course. Please also visit the JAI Research pages describing the JAI research and thesis topics such as plasma wakefield and other research areas.

Candidates for Royal Holloway can find more information at the Royal Holloway JAI website.

For 2021 multiple fully funded PhD positions are available within the JAI at Royal Holloway University of London, on the High Luminosity-LHC at CERN, the Diamond Light Source in Oxfordshire, in medical accelerator physics, and on novel experiments at DESY and FASER at CERN. Applications will be considered until places are filled. For eligible EU students starting in September 2021, we will award a fee reduction scholarship which brings your fee into line with the fee paid by UK students. Please send informal enquires to Prof. Stephen Gibson (stephen.gibson@rhul.ac.uk). For more information please click the links for RHUL research degrees and the RHUL accelerator physics homepage.

Candidates for Imperial College can find more information at the JAI website at Imperial College.

We also work with CERN and can accept graduate students who are participating in CERN Doctoral Student Programme
